Rita Block Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rita Block of Northbrook, Illinois, who passed away on February 24, 2026 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Kagan and Dorothy Kagan; and her brother Sheldon Kagan (Shelly). She is survived by: her husband Alvin Block; her children, Sheryle Trayber (late Marshall), Merle Block Troop (Robert Troop) and Bernie Block (Timmie); her grandchildren, Rebecca Rose Trayber, Ilanna Trayber, Sara Block (Ryan Bertram), Simone Fine (Alex), Jessica Block (Brian Rosenbaum), Joseph Troop (Kirsten), Jake Block, Mae Mae of Mason, Liam, Lilah and Cooper; and her sister Sheila Plotzker (late Izzy Kellerman).
In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to the American Friends of Magen David Adom.
