With solemn reverence, we commemorate Rita Mae O'Connor of Northbrook, Illinois, whose life came to an end on June 23, 2025 at the age of 89, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her spouse Fergus A. O'Connor, Jr.; her parents, Theodore VanderVoort and Cornelia VanderVoort; and her siblings, Marcia Schouten (Neil) and Dick VanderVoort (Davida).
She is survived by: her children, Erin O'Connor, Maureen O'Connor (Jane O'Mahoney), Brendan O'Connor, Eileen Heins (Thomas), Liam O'Connor (Donna) and Mary Ellen O'Connor; her grandchildren, Tegan, Kaeli, Garen, Aidan Heins, Ciaran, Shealyn, Donovan O'Connor, Megan and Rory O'Connor; her brother Jake VanderVoort (Cherie); and her mother-in-law Ruth.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, July 7th 2025 from 9:15 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Norbert and Our Lady of the Brook Parish (1809 Walters Ave, Northbrook, IL 60062).
