He is survived by: his wife Joyce Ranck of Deerfield; his stepson Peter (Yvonne); his daughter Karen (Edward); his grandchildren, Lauren, Allison, Evan and Dylan; his sons, Walter Dean, III and John Daniel (Chong); his grandsons, Aaron and Jordan; his great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Hannah, Rebekah Ruth, Weston and John Isaac; and his brother John M. Sherman (Susan). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Village Church of Northbrook (1300 Shermer Rd, Northbrook, IL 60062).
