She was predeceased by: her husband Bernardo "Bernie" Palos; her sibling-in-law Maricarmen (Curtis); her parents, Clarence and Lucille (Bernie); and her sister Cathy.
She is survived by: her children, Rachel (András), Aulock, John Palos (Anna), Joseph Palos (Mary Theresa), Paul Bazzell-Palos (Aminah), Maria Regalbuto (Robby), Jo Ann Cobar Palos (Santiago), Felicity Palos, Anya Palos and James Palos; her grandchildren, Javier, Stella, Diego, Antonio, Lucia, Sofia, Olivia, Isabel, Joaquín, Siena, Celeste, Wolfgang, Eloise, Blaise and Cobar Palos; her siblings, Edward (Laura), Theresa (Terry), Mary (Tim), Ronald and Donald; and her siblings-in-law, Tony (Mary), JC, Jim, Francisco (Inmaculada), Mike (Carol), Lucia (Albert) and Rosemary.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 27th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, February 28th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, February 28th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary of the Angels Church (1850 N Hermitage Ave, Chicago, IL 60622). A graveside service was held on Saturday, February 28th 2026 at 1:15 PM at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery (1400 S Wolf Rd, Hillside, IL 60162). During the COVID outbreak, Bernie and Susan welcomed Cathy into their home to care for her to ensure she would not be isolated.
