He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Olga; his daughters, Susan Pohrte (Steven) and Jenny Erdmann (Mark); and his grandchildren, Allison, Jamie Erdmann, Amanda Cary (Zachary) and Leah Erdmann. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home & Cremation Services (11028 SW Hwy, Palos Hills, IL 60465). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Bethania Cemetery (7701 Archer Ave, Justice, IL 60458).
