He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Petra Gil; his children, Joel Gil, Paula Gil (Gerardo Fermin) and Veronica Americano (Juan Estrada); and his grandsons, Rodrigo Carlos Mena (Briana), Gerardo Fermin, Jr. and Alejandro Miguel Americano.
