He was predeceased by : his wife Nancy Gibson; his brothers, John "Jack" Gibson (Margaret), Charles Gibson (Lois) and Harry Gibson (Beulah); and his nieces and nephews, Charlie Gibson, Linda Bell and Cynthia Shakis.

He is survived by : his nieces and nephews, Cheryl Welsch, Lori Gibson Kopanski, Thomas Gibson, Patrick Gibson, Jeanette Long, John Gibson, Sharon Williams and Kathy Gibson; and his friend Cathy Paulson.
