She was predeceased by : her parents, August Zahn and Mary Zahn; and her husband Jim Staas. She is survived by : her children, Kris, Karen, August, Jim and David; and her sister Gertrude.

A celebration of life was held on Sunday, May 5th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Unity Temple (875 Lake St, Oak Park, IL 60301).
