He was predeceased by : his sister Bette Alice Johnson-Moore. He is survived by : his grandfathers, David, Martin, Leslie (Joe) and Denny Jr.; his grandchildren, Lauren Olsen, Carson and Gavin Berg; his close friend Caryl Till; his sister Nancy Trice (John Dudley); and his son Herluf (Alice).

In lieu of flowers, Pops was a supporter of veteran organizations such as the Wounded Warrior Project, Chicago Veterans, and Disabled American Veterans.
