With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carl Thompson of Oakwood, Illinois, born in Westville, Illinois, who passed away on December 24, 2020 at the age of 91. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Carl Thompson to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, John and Mae Thompson Sr. (Bubelis); his siblings, JoAnn Shapuras and John Thompson Jr.; his nephews, Tom and Mike White; his niece Sherry Defenbaugh; and his close friend Zeke Bratkowski.

He is survived by : his girlfriend Patricia "Patty" Bratkowski Stitt; his siblings, Faustyn Thompson (Shirley), Iyrann Thompson (Hazel) and Adry Ann Swaney; his sister-in-law JoAnn Thompson; his nieces and nephews, Deborah Strako (Tim), Christina Dietzen (Robb), DiAnn Cottle, Sandy Pearson, Tammy Garza, Gloria Boswell (Ricky), Betsy Koonce, Rick Swaney, Steve Thompson (Tina), Steve Defenbaugh, Dale Thompson and Kelvin Thompson; his close friends, Gary and Lori Ann Cravens; and also, Debbie Schroeder and Cindy Krapf (Alan). He is also survived by great-great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to the Westville American Legion Post 51 Honor Guard or St. Paul's Catholic Church in Danville Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883 is assisting the family with his arrangements.
