He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Young and Bertha Young (Taylor); his wife Sandra Tatar; his brother Carl; and his sister-in-law Jerry Young.

He is survived by: his sons, Ron Young (Melanie) of Fishers, IN and David Young (Connie) of Oakwood, IL; his grandchildren, Ashley Dorsey (Devon) of Lapel, IN, Daniel Young of Seattle, WA, Katelyn Young (Jayden Cox) of Murray, KY, Joshua Young of Oakwood, IL and Nathan Young of Oakwood, IL; and his brother Ben Young (Janice Lane) of Danville, IL.

Memorials may be made in Robert's memory to the Muncie Baptist Church.
