It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irene Schmitz of Oconee, Illinois, who passed away on November 19, 2022, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Harry C. McDonald; her children, Christine M. Schmitz and Stephen P. Schmitz; and her siblings, Mildred Reed, Aubrey Lyle McDonald, Ilene Whitlatch, Marion McDonald, Delmar McDonald and Marvin McDonald.
She is survived by: her husband Clarence J. Schmitz; her children, Paulette Witsman (Bud) of Tiffin, OH, Thomas Schmitz (JR Blackburn) of Columbus, OH and Valerie Green (Steve) of Warrensburg, IL; and her grandchildren, Jessica Ashley (Brian), Maria Woollard (Nathan), Melissa Smith (Dave), Alan Schmitz (Jen), Megan Cox (Josh), David Schmitz (Kari), Matt Schmitz (Jenny), Rebecca Wilkinson (Joe), Corey Green (Trevor Stetzel) and Joseph Green. She is also survived by 19 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and sister.
