James Kraus Obituary
It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved James Kraus (OFallon, Illinois), born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away at the age of 85, on March 20, 2025. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Kraus and Vadis Kraus; and his grandsons, Jacob and Thaddeus Kraus. He is survived by: his brother Robert Kraus; his children, William Lyall Kraus, Michael James Kraus and Kimberly Lynn; his former wife Tiffany Marie; his children, Timothy, Maximilian and Tessa; his niece Karen Berry; his nephews, Lawrence Kraus and Robert Kraus; his son Anthony Mack; his wife Charlotte; and his pets, King Tut, Willie Wildcat, Sparky and Dottie. He is also survived by previous marriage, and two granddaughters.
To be of help during the challenging years ahead, Mike and Tiffany suggested a move to Southern Illinois. And so, it came to pass in March 2022 after waiting for the COVID restrictions to be lifted.
Alzheimer's Disease continued to progress until Jim passed on March 20, 2025. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory can be made to one of the following: Habitat for Humanity (directly or to Faith Lutheran Church designated for Habitat), Hospice of Southern Illinois, the Alzheimer's Association or the Benedictine Living Community at the Shrine.
