He was predeceased by: his parents, John William and Helen Mary "Asbury" Emmerich; his wife Deborah; his siblings, John Emmerich (Vicky Meyer), Jacqueline Curtis, Jean Taylor and Mary Carrigan; his great grandchild Rylynn Wilson; his nephew Patrick Calvin Curtis; and his sisters-in-law, Kim "Donahue" Emmerich and Barb "Fischer" Emmerich.
He is survived by: his children, Paul Emmerich (Tyanna) of Collinsville, IL, Brian Emmerich (Marsha) of O'Fallon, IL, Christian Emmerich (Anna) of O'Fallon, IL and Bettina Emmerich (Rob Tomlin) of Caseyville, IL; and his siblings, James Emmerich, Thomas Emmerich (Sheri) of Glenarm, IL, Angela Simmons (Patrick) and Patrick "Uncle Walt" Emmerich of O'Fallon, IL. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
