He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Larry and Connie Young Gilbreath; and his son-in-law Christopher Nowels. He is survived by: his wife Sherry Surber Gilbreath; his children, Roy Gilbreath Jr., Catherine "Cassie" Nowels and Darsey Moritz (Joshwa Moritz); his grandchildren, Cooper and McKenzie Moritz; his siblings, David Gilbreath (Jeanne) and Judith Gilbreath; and his mother-in-law Betty Surber. He is also survived by several nephews, great-nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens (5000 N Illinois St, Fairview Heights, IL 62208). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Revive Assembly of God (1105 Beltline Rd, Collinsville, IL 62234).
