She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Lawrence, Margaret Schmersahl and Beverly Gale; and her aunts and uncles, Frank, Louis Schmersahl, Laura, Paige Schmersahl and Christine Gale.
She is survived by: her father John A. (Barbara E.); her children, Abigale and Keegan Schmersahl; her sisters, Emily Beyer (Zach), Kimberly Schmersahl and Megan Schmersahl; her siblings' children, Anna Schmersahl, Mackenzie Beyer and Cole Spicer; her aunts and uncles, Donna Gale, Shirley Alford, Ann Coughlin (Jim), Pam Terveer (Charlie), Teresa Becker (Gary), Larry Gale, Sandy Hummert (Nick), Cindy Schmersahl, Jim Schmersahl, Joan Buss (Phil), Helen Bahre, Alice Cline (James) and Carl Schmersahl; and her close friend Amie McGee. She is also survived by many cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, January 10th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Peter's United Church of Christ (102 Church St, Okawville, IL 62271).
In lieu of all other gifts, memorials may be made to the family of Sara Schmersahl.
