She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Hoeksema and Winnifred Hoeksema (Wilson); her husband Ray Smith; her brother David Hoeksema; and her children, Sam and Maddy.

She is survived by: her children, Alex Gerdow and Xynora Pearl Jackson; her sister Marsha Gillespie; and her friends, David Damhesel and Mary Kuhn.
