He was predeceased by: his parents, John C. Gerstel and Lorris E. Gerstel (Reynolds); and his daughter Lisa Gerstel. He is survived by: his wife Sandy (Morris) of Oquawka; his son Rick Gerstel (Gina) of Kirkwood, Illinois; his siblings, Phillip Gerstel of Burlington, Iowa and Nancy Cook of Macomb, Illinois; and his stepchildren, Timmy Campbell of Abingdon, Terry Campbell of Kansas, George B. Kilburn of Galesburg, Illinois and Brenda Shores of Abingdon. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
