He was predeceased by: his parents, John Yingst and Mary Yingst; and his siblings, Bill Yingst, Lewis Yingst, John Yingst, Mabel Fancher, Florence Coble, Elsie Robinson, Ethel Simmons, Rosemary Higgs, Deloris Lilly, Roberta Horath, Caroline Lawhorn and Judy Long.

He is survived by: his wife Lydia Yingst of Oreana; his sons, Robert C Yingst (Barbette) of Lexington, KY. and Aaron N. Yingst (Amanda) of Braidwood, IL.; his grandchildren, Beth Hunter (Will), Bridget Owusu (John) and Brylie Jo Yingst; his stepgranddaughters, Hayley and Willa Meyer; and his sisters, Connie Tipsword, Gladys Austin and Elaine Karnes.
