He was predeceased by: his parents, John Traver and Daisy Traver (Wallace); his children, John W. Traver, III and Tiffani Lynn Traver; his sister Joann Southwick (Dave); and his nephew Michael Southwick.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Beers of Oregon, IL; his granddaughter Denise Renee Turrisi (Andrea) of Plymouth, Connecticut; his great grandchildren, Sage Renee and Rosemary Elizabeth Turrisi; his niece Terri Southwick; his nephew Patrick Southwick (Christina); and his close friends, Tim Richardson, Alex Gall and Tamra VanCleve.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home - Oregon (110 S 7th St, Oregon, IL 61061). The military honors will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Ashton Cemetery.
A memorial fund is established in John's name.
