He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Pearl Robeson and Myrv Robeson; his child Jonny; his wife Carole Ann (Kennedy); his children, Cherrie Musial (John), Yvette Hubbman (Paul) and Jonathan Robeson Jr. (Becky); his siblings, Ronny, Jerry, Nick and Leona; and his grandchildren, Clay, Cliff, Nick, Ryan, Jonathan III, Louise and Ella.
