She was predeceased by: her significant other Robert Welsh; and her daughter Janet (Nancy Carpenter). She is survived by: her daughter Elizabeth Jaffe (Peter); her son-in-law Joseph Tyranowski; her grandchildren, John (late Jennifer), Jeff, Katelyn (Mark), Angela (Sam), Dominique (James) and Richard; and her stepgrandson Jonah (Ben). She is also survived by her 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Friendship United Methodist Church (305 E Boughton Rd, Bolingbrook, IL 60440). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that live plants be sent to the church for use during the service. Following the service, family members or attendees will take the plants home as living memorials to Rita, allowing her memory and the love she shared to continue to grow.
