Richard E. Thomsen Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard E. Thomsen of Orion, Illinois, who passed away on March 8, 2026 at the age of 68. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Thomsen and Betty Thomsen (Littell); his wife Bobbi Sue Utsinger; his parents-in-law, Floyd Utsinger and Dixie Krueger; and his stepfather-in-law William Krueger.

He is survived by: his sons, Brandon Thomsen and Bryce Thomsen (Abby); his grandchildren, Lily Laws, Lexie Rae Thomsen, Braxton, Maddox and Kinsley Sue Thomsen; his great grandchild Parker Rae Laws; his siblings, Loma Cashion, Robert "Butch" Thomsen (Linda) and Ronna Roessler (Frank); his sisters-in-law, Terri Siegel (Mike) and Jill Osowski (Mark); and his stepmother-in-law Linda Utsinger. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials are made out to the family, for a fund to be established to the Orion community.
