George R. Schaaf Sr. Obituary
We are sad to announce that on June 20, 2025, at the age of 91, George R. Schaaf Sr. (Orland Park, Illinois) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife June B. Schaaf; and his siblings, Jean Alderden (late Marty), Clarence Schaaf (Bea) and Fred Schaaf (late Marcia). He is survived by: his children, George Schaaf Jr. (Kris), Donna Deckinga (Rich), Barbara Schaaf (Trish), Linda Stuursma (Kevin Carlson) and Bob Schaaf (Carla); his grandchildren, Steven, Austin, Shea, Rachel, Tiffany (Bryan), Brian (Caitlin), David (Brittany), Justin (Kendall), Joel Andy (Melanie), Bob Jr. (Abby), Mark and Tommy; and his sibling Clareen Sluis (late Jim).
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel (15525 73rd Ave, Orland Park, IL 60462). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Orland Park Christian Reformed Church (7500 Sycamore Dr, Orland Park, IL 60462). A burial will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery's Elsner.
