He was predeceased by: his children, Gerald Helmerich II and Tracy Tomkovich (Tim); his parents, Russell Helmerich and Lavinia Helmerich; and his sister Betty.
He is survived by: his wife Dolores; his children, Laura Rosson (Roger) and Todd Helmerich (Beth); and his grandchildren, Michael, Megan (Peter), Miles (Taylor) and Ella.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home - Orland Park (9000 W 151st St, Orland Park, IL 60462). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
