He is survived by: his children, Timothy Reif (Dianne), Anne Rubley (Jeff Sherred), Karen Lester (Jack) and Amy Mackie (Dean); his brother Stanley Reif; and his grandchildren, Kylie Parpart (Aaron), Ryan Reif (Amber), Tyler Reif (Carrie Ann), Heather Chiapetta (Jon), Jason Rubley (Laura), Kurt Komers (Carrie), Jonathan Komers (Stacy), Jeffrey Hall and Matthew Hall. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.

“I am so very sad to hear of the passing of Reverend Rife. Rev Rife married us he baptized all of our children. He lead all of my children through Sunday school and senior higher. A big part of the Witt family lives as he was a big part of everyone’s life at first Presbyterian Church of Chicago Heights. His sermons were always insightful. He had a way of making it sound like he was talking directly to you. He had a way of making you think through his sermons and his actions. I will miss him very much.”
