It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John O. Gruwell Sr. (Orland Park, Illinois), who passed away on September 27, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Arlene M. Gruwell; his children, Lorrie Ragland, John Jr. (Jennie), Daniel and Thomas Gruwell; his grandson Joshua Ragland (Tessa); and his great grandchildren, Roman and Tony.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home - Orland Park (9000 W 151st St, Orland Park, IL 60462). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the American Legion Post #261 (13050 Washington St, Cedar Lake, IN 46303).
