He is survived by: his children, Kathryn Hynes, Laura Miller (Jeff), Michael (Jessica) and Kelly Hynes; his grandchildren, Olivia Grace, Cole John and Briar Rose; and his siblings, Dr. James T. Hynes (Karen) and Mary Ann Glynn (Brian). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
