Merle leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Merle’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. She was predeceased by: her husband James McWalters; her son Jimmy; and her brother Howard Lodding (late Rosemary). She is survived by: her children, William (Carol) and Susan Kissel (Roy); her grandchildren, Shannon McWalters and Erin St (Jeff Bishop); and her great grandchild Billy.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home (9000 W 151st St, Orland Park, IL 60462). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
