He was predeceased by: his son James P. Greendyke; and his siblings, William Greendyke (Linda) and Lambert "Butch" Greendyke (Janet). He is survived by: his wife Dorothy J.; his children, Carolyn Van Dam (Jim) and Robert Greendyke (Catherine); his grandchildren, JP Van Dam (Stephanie Simmons), Victoria Van Dam, Hunter Van Dam (Theresa), Grant Greendyke, Clark Greendyke and Margo Greendyke; his great grandchildren, Cornelius Van Dam and Simmons; and his siblings, Henny Veldman (late John) and Betty O'Keefe (Mike).
Visitation was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel (15525 73rd Ave, Orland Park, IL 60462). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The military honors was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
