He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Loretta; his parents, Joseph and Stefania; his brothers, John (Elaine) and Joseph (Mary); his children, Robert Papan, James Papan (Mary Ann), Michael Papan (Ellen), William Papan (Gina) and Sandra Myers (David); his grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael), Erica (Micheal), Timothy, Michele, Alyssa (Luke), Lauryn, Daniel and Andrew; and his great grandchildren, Lillian, Dorothy, Jack, Penelope, Maryelise, Edan and Vivian.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home - Orland Park (9000 W 151st St, Orland Park, IL 60462). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 9:15 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Elizabeth Seton Church (9300 W 167th St, Orland Hills, IL 60487).
