He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Rose Herman; his parents, Sigmund Herman and Ethel Herman; and his siblings, Richard (Marie), Eugene (late Cleta), Rosemary Rickert (late Edward), Dolores Trandel (late Jerry), Robert and James (Colleen).
He is survived by: his daughters, Colleen Dooley (John), Sandra Cella (Christopher), Megan Murray (Thomas) and Katie Adamczyk (Edward); his grandchildren, Joseph Sigmund (Nicole), Luke (Kristin), Hannah (Joe), Maverick (Hannah), Patrick, Emily (Ryan), Reilly, Kaitlyn, Ryan and Madelyn; and his great grandchild Giavanna.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home & Crematory (15525 73rd Ave, Orland Park, IL 60462). A prayer will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Colonial Chapel (15525 73rd Ave, Orland Park, IL 60462). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Julie Billiart Church (7399 W 159th St, Tinley Park, IL 60477). A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421).
