He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Consuelo Romero Avila; his children, Izenet Renteria of Chicago, Itzel Romero of Oswego and Jorge Alonso Portillo of Oswego; his parents, Engracia Portillo and Trinidad Portillo; his parents-in-law, Consuelo and Ricardo Romero; and his siblings, Rafael Portillo, Alba Portillo, Silvia Portillo, Trinidad Portillo, Janett Portillo and Sonia Portillo.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home (15219 Joliet Rd, Plainfield, IL 60544). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Andrew the Apostle Church (505 Kingston Dr, Romeoville, IL 60446).
