Charon Bappert Obituary

We bid farewell to Charon Bappert of Ottawa, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 8, 2025 at the age of 63. Charon touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Nielsen and Charlotte Nielsen (Mundt); her siblings, Dale Hildebrand, Curt Nielsen and Don Nielsen; and her nephews, Jeffrey Iniguez, Donnie Nielsen and Joshua Iniguez.

She is survived by: her children, Christian Wigsmoen, Heather Wigsmoen (Nelson Rodriguez), David Bappert (Tanya) and Alex Bappert; her grandchildren, Alexis, CJ, Tabitha, Damien, James and Aurora; her great grandchild Kailiel; her sisters, Diane Gross, Donna Iniguez, Connie Racke (Tom) and Debra Leone; and her former husband Martin Bappert.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Ottawa Funeral Home (1111 La Salle St, Ottawa, IL 61350). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the same location.

Memorial contributions in Charon's honor may be directed to the family.
