He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Hulslander and Bertha Hulslander (Petersen); his siblings, Marjorie and Curtis; his wife Jean (Muntz); and his daughter Ellen (White).
He is survived by: his children, David Hulslander (Betsy), Carol Kennedy (Ray Klein), Sarah Hulslander and Barry Richardson (Ann-Louise); and his foster children, Rob Smeets (Sunny), Diane Lewis and Roger Smeets (Val). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Swenson Fund at Trinity Lutheran Church of Ottawa or the University of Illinois Ag Alumni Association.
