He was predeceased by: his parents, Dan McGinnis and Ann McGinnis (McGraw); his siblings, Tom, Dan McGinnis, Ann Byers (Sonny) and Mary Whren (Bob); his brother-in-law Patrick O'Brien; and his niece Jeanne Byers.
He is survived by: his wife Alice; his children, Karen Conness (Tim), Kathy Schultz, Jim McGinnis (Melanie), Beth McGinnis, Mike McGinnis and Molly Hughes (Brian); his grandchildren, Caitlin McConnaughhay (Charlie), Kaylee Covi (Cade), Claire Jurden (Rich), KJ Schultz, Michael Conness (Chloe), Riley McGinnis and Jack McGinnis; his brother Ed McGinnis (Rosemary); and his sisters-in-law, Mary L. O'Brien, Barb McGinnis and Antoinette McGinnis. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Friendship House of Ottawa or Ottawa Food Pantry.
