He was predeceased by: his parents, George Ilgen and Viro Ilgen (Schultz); and his great-aunt Gladys Ilgen. He is survived by: his wife Judith Lischmann Buchta of Ottawa; his children, Erica L. Softley (Jeffery) of California, Jeffery Munz (Susan) of Rockford and Jan David Buchta (Cindy) of Elkhart, IN; his grandchildren, Brandy, Arlin, Zachary, Chandler, Alex, Noah and Emily; his great grandchildren, Darien, Devin, Sydney and Chelsea; and his brother-in-law Hal D. Lischmann (Shirley).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Mueller Funeral Home - Ottawa (800 1st Ave, Ottawa, IL 61350). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Oakwood Memorial Park (2405 Champlain St, Ottawa, IL 61350).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Open Table UCC or Pet Project.
