Lucille Keating Obituary

Lucille R. Keating, 99, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Ottawa Pavilion. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 14, 2012, at St. Patrick's Church, with the Rev. Joseph Donton officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 3:00 p.m. with the Catholic Daughters of Americas in attendance.

Lucille was born March 13, 1913, in Standard, Illinois, to Louis and Frances (Bechelli) Guidotti. She married Maurice Keating on November 23, 1936. He died April 15, 1962. She worked for the Superintendent of Schools, the LaSalle County Highway Department, and the LaSalle County Court System as a Jury Commissioner. She was an active member in the Business and Professional Women"s Association, the Catholic Daughters of Americas, the LaSalle County Democratic Party, LaSalle County Mental Health Association, St. Patrick"s and St. Columba Catholic Churches.

Lucille lived in the halfway house for over 30 years and she donated Indian artifacts to the LaSalle County Historical Museum in Utica. Lucille is survived by two daughters and a son, June (Ed) Bryson of Delray Beach, FL, Shirley Breaux of Baton Rouge, LA and John "Jack" (Mary Jo) Keating of Hamilton, MT; four grandchildren, Rob Breaux, Mike (Sherrie) Keating, Brian (Valerie) Keating, and Jodi (Lon) Steger; and five great-grandchildren, Jenna and Alex Keating, Neve, Keaton, and Ramsey Steger.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice; her sister, Mary Wooten; and her brother, Louis J. Guidotti. Pallbearers will be Mike Keating, Brian Keating, Alex Keating, Lon Steger, Rob Breaux, and Ed Bryson. Memorials may be directed to the Keating family for charitable donation in Lucille"s name.
