He is survived by: his significant other Marilyn Young of Ottawa; his sons, Matthew Cupples and Joshua Thrush (Laura); his stepdaughter Christina Jones; his grandchildren, Haydie Thrush, Miranda Husser (Nathanel) and Maryassa Jones; his great grandchildren, Nathaniel and Beau Husser; and his sisters, Sue Cook, Barb Thrush and Mary Montano. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
