He was predeceased by : his parents, Clarence McWard and Velma McWard (Klingler); his spouse Shirley Bates; and his siblings, Juanita Harvey, Irma Bryan, Betty Jo Ward and Harold.

He is survived by : his children, Marie (Patrick Kapustka), Cheryl, Dean (Venise Devore) and Christine (Jaime Alban); his grandchildren, Alex, Kevin, Claire Kapustka, Jacob McWard, Sophia and Sam Alban; his brothers, Lyle McWard of Decatur and Larry McWard (Connie) of Morrisonville; and his caregivers, Sandy Miller, Tanya Ishmael, Julia England and Brooke Burney. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Christian County Farm Bureau Scholarship Fund or to Shriners Hospital.
