William Leach Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of William Leach of Owaneco, Illinois. William, born on May 20, 1937, passed away on September 1, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee H. Leach and Vera P. Leach (Taylo); his sister Betty Schweizer; his brother-in-law Charlie Schweizer; and his nephew Steven Schweizer.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Kinney; his children, Terry Leach (Marsha) of Cerro Gordo, IL, Diana Ring of Taylors, SC, Tim Leach (Vicki), Ontario, Tom Leach (Kellijo) of Decatur, IL, Jeff Elliott (Heather) of Decatur, IL, Tracy Hobby (Doug) of Waxhaw, NC, Troy Kinney (Kimberly) of Decatur, IL and Jason Leach of Rochester, IL; his niece Brenda Duncan (Todd); and his great-nephew Austin Schweizer (Destiny). He is also survived by 24 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (114 Maple St, Pana, IL 62557). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Macon County Memorial Park (5700 W Main St, Decatur, IL 62522).
Memorials in Bill's honor may be made to the Cerro Gordo Brethren Church or First Baptist Church in Pana and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
