She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy Eaken and Lena Eaken (Buswell); and her siblings-in-law, Susanne Smith and Steve Schapiro. She is survived by: her pony Flicka; her husband Michael Smith; her children, Sean Smith (Hannah) and Jennifer Rode (Joseph); her grandchildren, Julia, Nora, Claire and Lucy; her siblings, Doris (Gene Regnier) and William Eaken; her siblings-in-law, Maura Smith and Fred (Lana Smith); and her siblings' children, Susan, Paul, Linda, Mark, Steve, Laura, Elizabeth, Theophilus, Lara, Luke and Ryan.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home (201 N Northwest Hwy, Palatine, IL 60067). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church (1201 E Anderson Dr, Palatine, IL 60074). A burial was held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at the St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery (1185 W Algonquin Rd, Palatine, IL 60067).
