He was predeceased by: his parents, Emma Stires and Manning Stires; and his half-brothers, Homer and Wilford Stires. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Runchey Stires; his children, Courtney, David and EmmaLea (Carrie); and his grandchildren, Emma, Abby, Jack and Henry.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the First United Methodist Church (123 N Plum Grove Rd, Palatine, IL 60067). A burial will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026.
