He was predeceased by: his wives, Judith A. Rostowsky and Harriet M. Rostowsky; his brother Paul Rostowsky (Nancy); and his brothers-in-law, Louis Zazzara (Beverly) and Harry Hill (Sheri).

He is survived by: his children, Joseph Jr. Rostowsky (Marypat), Steven Rostowsky (Claudia), Karen Olsowski (Ken) and Vincent Rostowsky (Crystal); his sister-in-law Jo Ann Zazzara; and his caregiver Roberta Barlow.
