He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Smith and Katharine Smith (Donoghue); his sister Susanne Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Doris Regnier and Steve Schapiro.
He is survived by: his wife Donna (Eaken); his children, Sean Smith (Hannah) and Jennifer Rode (Joseph); his grandchildren, Julia, Nora, Claire and Lucy; his siblings, Maura and Fred (Lana Smith); his brother-in-law Willian Eaken; and his siblings' children, Susan, Paul, Linda, Mark, Steve, Laura, Elizabeth, Theophilus, Lara, Luke and Ryan.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church (1201 E Anderson Dr, Palatine, IL 60074). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at the St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery (1185 W Algonquin Rd, Palatine, IL 60067).
