He was predeceased by: his parents, William Meyer and Nelle Meyer (Folkerts); his son Christopher Meyer; and his siblings, John, Jake, Bill, Annie, Grace Sellers, Angeline, Clara Pomella, Annette Auwema and Joan Klein.

He is survived by: his wife Jeannette; and his children, William Meyer (Gale), Edward Jr. Meyer (Luann), Debra Davids (William) and Patti Giesler (Kurt). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Elim Christian School, 13020 Central Ave., Crestwood, IL 60418 or Trinity Christian College, 6601 W. College Dr., Palos Heights, IL 60643 would be appreciated.

“I would just like to send my condolences to the Meyer family. Ed Meyer hired me in April 1971. He was truly one heck of a boss and person to work for. When the family sold out to Waste Management, it was a sad day in my life and all the guys I worked with. To work for the Meyer Brothers, was really an experience to say the least. Ed Meyer, rest in peace my friend. Doug Mitchell”
