She was predeceased by: her husband Michael Athy; her grandchildren, Brendan Jr. (Erika) and Samantha; and her siblings, Monica Guilmoto, Victor Guilmoto (late Sylvia) and Phyllis Rosamond (late Maurice).
She is survived by: her children, Christina Henneberry, Theresa Rigas (John), Vincent (Breda), Brendan (Jean), Peter Athy (Cameron), Judy Comfort (Tom), Kieran Athy (Deborah) and Denise Horton (Tom); and her grandchildren, Gene (Nicole), Aileen (Andrew), Casey (Alyssa), Jessica (John), Kimberly (Tim), Christopher (Ellen), Sean, Daniel (Cara), Michael (Sydney), Desmond, Leah (Michael), Derek (Chelsey), Carraig, Aidan, Kieran, Peter, Ciara (Ben), Liam, Sydney and Abigail.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kerry Funeral Home (7020 W 127th St, Palos Heights, IL 60463). A prayer was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 9:45 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Saint Alexander Church (7025 W 126th St, Palos Heights, IL 60463). A burial was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM at the Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery (6001 W 111th St, Alsip, IL 60803).
