He is survived by: his pets, El Turco, Dumbo, Chico, Beau, Calypso, Duke, Lolli and Letty; his sister Josefa Mena of Martinez; his children, Else Maria Tennessen (late Dave), Yvonne Mayer (Jeffrey) and Pablo Valente Mena (Joan Marie Dauber); his grandchildren, Alex Kloth (Afton Woodward), Valerie Morrow, Zachary Tennessen, Emrys Tennesen, Lucas Mayer (Malena), Michael Mayer, Isabella Mayer and Juliana Mayer; and his great grandchild Julian Mayer.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Palos United Methodist Church (12101 S Harlem Ave, Palos Heights, IL 60463). A burial was held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Mount Hope Cemetery (11500 S Fairfield Ave, Chicago, IL 60655).
