He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Dreger and Caroline Dreger. He is survived by: his children, Mike (Lorene), Jim (Vicki) and Laura Dreger; his grandchildren, Brent Dreger (Brittney), Amber Lawrence (Keith), James Dreger, Jr. and Josh Hayes; and his great grandchildren, Wesley and Lance Dreger. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Book Hotel Kerry Funeral Home (7020 W 127th St, Palos Heights, IL 60463). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Book Hotel Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421).
