Wendell Earl Yonker Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Wendell Earl Yonker of Palos Heights, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 29, 2025 at the age of 101. He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin James and Catherine Yonker (Hoort); his wife Dorothy Persenaire Yonker; his daughter Cathy Larsen; his brothers, Kenneth Yonker (Mary) and Norris Yonker (Peggy); and his siblings-in-law, Betty Douma (Con), Phyllis Groot (John), Jean Rossier (John), June Wolff (Earl), Charles Persenaire (Phyllis) and John Leo.
He is survived by: his sister-in-law Donna Leo; his daughter Wendy Sue Van Vugt (Eric); his son-in-law Dave Larsen (Sally); his grandchildren, Josh Larsen (Debbie), Anne Vander Weele (Dave), Jennifer Harris (Chad), Erin Haan (Craig), Cate Huizenga (Joe), Heather Ramirez (Austin), Kyle Yonker (Heather), Tim Van Vugt and Chad Yonker (Lorien); his son Tom; and also Thomas Yonker (Judy).
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel (15525 73rd Ave, Orland Park, IL 60462). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Palos Heights Christian Reformed Church (7059 W 127th St, Palos Heights, IL 60463).
